This policy explains what personal data Postbuddy collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've written it in plain English because that's how we do everything.
Who we are
Postbuddy is a sole trader business providing done-for-you social media services to small businesses in Ireland. For the purposes of data protection law, Postbuddy is the data controller in respect of any personal data you provide to us.

Postbuddy operates in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.
What personal data we collect
We collect only what we need to provide our service. This includes:
- Contact details: your name, email address, and phone number
- Business information: your business name, trade type, and location
- Social media information: your Facebook page and Instagram handle, where provided
- Content you send us: photos, voice notes, and other materials you share via WhatsApp for use in your social media posts
- Payment information: processed securely by Stripe. We do not store card details.
- Communications: emails and WhatsApp messages between us
We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as health information, political opinions, or religious beliefs).
Why we collect it

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the Postbuddy service.
Legal basis for processing
Under GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. We rely on the following:
- Contract: processing your name, contact details, and business information is necessary to provide the service you've signed up for
- Legitimate interests: we may use your contact details to send you service-related updates and relevant information about Postbuddy. You can opt out at any time.
- Legal obligation: we may retain certain records (such as payment records) to comply with Irish tax and accounting law
We do not rely on consent as our primary legal basis for processing, as our processing is necessary to deliver the service.
How long we keep your data
- Active clients: we retain your data for the duration of your subscription
- After cancellation: we retain your data for 12 months, after which it is securely deleted
- Payment records: retained for 7 years in line with Irish Revenue requirements
- Initial enquiries: retained for 6 months if you do not become a client

Third parties we work with
We use a small number of trusted third-party tools to deliver our service. Each is GDPR-compliant.

Your rights under GDPR
As an Irish resident, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations
- Right to restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability: request your data in a portable format
- Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests
